good night, and good luck.

Pure joy is a serious matter.

an unknow album by miles and coltrane

well i must confess that there are really huge amount of rare vynils and so result in huge amount of vynil-ripping mp3s, sometimes when those tracks be distributed through not so regular ways, the information of the originals lost, horriblely, remind me of the famous joke of the Halley Comet.it happens all the time, though i have always have the confidence to solve those puzzle, until recently.
i did come across an album only titled "miles & coltrane live in new york",tracklist:

01 - bye bye, black bird
02 - four
03 - it never entered my mind
04 - walkin'
05 - milestones
06 - so what

some said it was recorded 1958,some just believe that it recorded 1963.
i digged that there was really an official release by bandstand record, recorded in ny,may 1958, lined up miles/coltrane/Bill Evans/Paul Chambers/Philly Joe Jones, you can see here, how ever the track list doesn't match.
those mp3s ID3 tags show that, apparently, it release 2000, the tracks sound glitchin', very much can be sure that be ripped from vynil, but the question is,who did it? and what is the original lp?
another clue is,when playing the first track "bye bye, black bird" in progress around 3 minutes and a half, a noise, sounded like an 70's r&b music, was accidentally mixed in, so i guess this 'work' was from an commen people, and maybe he or she just wan to make a joke of us. and i guess it's easy for one to announce a discover of rare tapes or lps if the others are easily stired of the zeal of seekin for those so called "burried treasure".
thx to p2p sharing and other approaches,we were through into the universe of records that we've never dreamt of before, today many can be proud to say,"i know this artist and some others..."though i have to admit that few tracks impress me, cause i listen in a hurry, cause the music is free and cheap. (yes, internet is making everything cheap, or at least easy to gain, easy to release, everyman can jump to the stage of light, that's why more and more indie bands' rockers is posing their stoic faces, jump to the covers of magazine by making stereotyped noise. )
but while listening is degrading to downloading, are we still have the fun before?
